Lost ID FAQs
You can go anywhere to Irembo agent, he/she shall assist you. Or you create your own account and declare yourself.
When you are filling information on Irembo portal, there is a list of RIB stations ready to receive your, and you choose the nearest one.
After sending your request via Irembo, you receive a message / email from RIB inviting you to report yourself at RIB station.
After submitting your request, you will get a feedback within 5 days
Any document available with your photo.
After RIB, you are provided with a number for ID replacement payment. And you can I apply for ID replacement certificate (if you want).
You will receive a message from Irembo, by your telephone or email
The ID replacement costs 1500fr paid on Irembo
You will receive a text message from your phone or email informing you, where your ID is sent.
A Rwandan living abroad is required to obtain a certificate of loss from the authority in charge where he/she lives, and should submit it to the consulate or embassy of the country in which he or she resides for stamp, and emailing diasporaservices@nida.gov.rw, along with the procurement and contact details of a familiar who will pick the identity card.
