DIGITAL ID ENROLLMENT LAUNCHED IN RUSIZI DISTRICT

The mass rollout of the Digital ID (SDID) is currently underway inThe exercise was led by the Mayor of Rusizi District, Sindayiheba Phanuel.

The exercise aims to continue bringing registration and biometric data capture services closer to residents, enabling them to obtain a Digital ID that will facilitate easy, secure, and reliable access to various services.

In Rusizi District, Digital ID Enrollment started in nine sectors: Bweyeye, Gihundwe, Nkanka, Nkungu, Mururu, Rwimbogo, Bugarama, Muganza, and Nyakabuye.

During the launch of Digital ID Enrollment  the Mayor of Rusizi District, Sindayiheba Phanuel, encouraged residents to actively participate in the exercise and follow the guidelines provided to ensure that the process runs smoothly.

Residents in the sectors where the exercise has started are encouraged to participate in the exercise as scheduled, visit the designated registration and biometric data capture points, and bring the required documents.

Residents going to have their photographs taken for the issuance of the Digital ID are required to bring their National ID, where applicable. They should also provide their parents’ National ID numbers, if their parents have been issued National IDs, as well as the National ID number of their spouse, where applicable.

For individuals who have not yet been issued a National ID, they should provide their unique identification number.

The Digital ID photo capture exercise in Rusizi District will continue across different sectors according to the established schedule, with the aim of bringing this service closer to as many residents as possible.

NIDA encourages residents to continue participating in the registration and biometric data capture exercise to facilitate the issuance of their Digital ID.
