My name is Hakizimana, and I’m truly grateful for the service I received at NIDA.

For a long time,  I had a condition with my eyes (imirari), but after receiving medical treatment, it was corrected. However, my ID photo still showed the way I used to look, and it no longer represented who I am today.

I didn’t even know it was possible to change the photo on a national ID until one day, some neighbors mentioned it to me. They advised me to visit the NIDA office  and find out if it could be done.

Encouraged by their advice, I decided to go. When I arrived, the staff welcomed me warmly and guided me through the process. They took a new photo and replaced the old image with one that truly reflects how I look now.

I was honestly surprised and very happy to receive my updated ID card with the new photo. It might seem like a small change, but to me, it means a lot. Now, I feel confident and proud to show my ID.
