REGISTRATION FOR DIASPORA

A Rwandan living abroad is registered at the embassy of the country in which he resides. When he arrived in Rwanda without registering at the embassy, ​​he can register at NIDA Headquarters.

A.2. What documents are used to prove that the applicant is Rwandan?

- Old ID card of the owner or one of his / her parents, or a copy of his / her 2007 registration book signed and stamped by the Sector Executive Secretary;

- A rwandan passport or Laissez passer;

- A family book (Livret de famille) issued by the country of residence showing that he is a Rwandan;

- Card issued by the Rwandan Embassy in the country of residence (Consular Card / carte consulaire);

- A Rwandan citizenship certificate issued by the Immigration Service;

A.3. What documents can be used to indicate the identity of the applicant?

- All IDs issued by the Republic of Rwanda before 2008;

- Birth Certificate (Attestation de Naissance / Attestation d'identité complete) issued by the Republic of Rwanda before 2008;

- Birth Certificate issued by the country of birth;

- Another document indicating the identity of the applicant;

- Another document, indicating the above-mentioned Rwandan nationality can be used;

- The child's birth certificate shows the birth certificate "Acte de Naissance / Birth certificate" accompanied by the child's birth certificate.

B. BIOMETRIC DATA CAPTURE

B.1. Where is the biometric data captured?

- At the nearest embassy/consulat in which they live.

- The applicant is required to provide the said above documents.

B.2. Where, when can I get an ID after biometrics?

- Obtaining an ID takes 3 days for those taken biometrics at NIDA, for those abroad they recuperate their ID at the nearest embassy.

B.3. What is the identity card required?

- Payment of 500 Frw
